Meet The Faces Behind Brighter Horizon Financial Services Inc.

We are Darren and Joem Weinkauf, the proud owners of Brighter Horizon Financial Services Inc. We look forward to sharing our story and hope you will enjoy getting to know us better.

My husband, Darren, has experience in multiple sectors, from livestock and agriculture to owning a restaurant and car dealership and being involved in business start-ups from clothing stores to furniture stores. I came to Canada from the Philippines in 2001 as a caregiver and, for the first six years, worked sixteen hours per day to pay the bills and support my family back home. I realized that no matter how hard I work, if I still have the same financial mindsets and no strategy, progress will be non-existent. So, I studied the habits, the monetary thought process, and the financial strategies of those successful individuals I would like to emulate and surround myself with trusted experts learning all I could. 

Intending to impart the knowledge I gained and help others reach their financial goals the same way I did, I started Brighter Horizon Financial Services Inc. in 2008. Initially, we only offered insurance from one particular insurance provider. Today, we offer insurance, investment, investment loans, mortgages, debt restructuring and have a team of experienced professionals who can assist anyone in becoming financially educated and learning financial skills.

Parts of my work life that I most enjoy are listening to people and helping them plan towards achieving their financial goals. I also love seeing the results of what a little financial planning and the correct implementation of strategies can do.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my commitment to integrity and complete honesty. I believe in sincerity, diligence, perfection and always have my clients' best interests in mind.

I attribute my success to my many loyal, trusting clients whose business has kept us going even through tough times. 

Envisioning where I would like my business to be and achieving my goals has given me immense satisfaction over the years.

When I am not at work, I love traveling. But with the pandemic, I am learning skiing and hopefully soon karate. I also love choiring at the church and arranging flowers to give to people.

I also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, I plan to go to law school so that apart from taking care of my client's financial future, I can fight for those in need.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
